Carrot raita

Carrot Raita is prepared with Carrot, Yogurt and green chillies. A healthy, tasty and quick recipe to add to your menu.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Serves: 3 people


Carrot: 3 (grated)
Green chillies: 6 ( finely chopped)
Mustard seeds:1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
Red chillies: 1
Turmeric powder: small pinch
Asafoetida: small pinch
Oil: 2tsp
Salt to taste.
Curry leaves: few
Coriander to garnish.


Take yogurt in a bowl and beat it until it becomes smooth.

Take a kadai add 2tsp oil and add mustard seeds when it splutters add cumin seeds, red chillies and asafoetida.

Sauté it once  green chillies and curry leaves. When it turns golden brown then add grated carrot stir it for a minute. Take them into a bowl. 

Add Yogurt, salt and turmeric powder to the carrot mix.

Garnish  with coriander.

Goes nice with Roti or Parathas.
